The breakroom was normally silent.
Microwaves.
Phones.
Avoided eye contact.
Julian noticed a coworker staring blankly at nothing.
Instead of leaving she asked:
“How’s the human side of your day?”
The coworker laughed.
“Messy.”
Five minutes later they were talking about life instead of deadlines.
Sometimes leadership begins with noticing people.
