Just Doing Life

Morning Prayers

Eli never considered himself a morning person. Most days, he woke up still tired, dreading the long list of tasks ahead. One Monday, the pressure felt heavier than ever—a looming deadline at work, a sick relative, and bills waiting for him. For a moment, Eli considered hiding under the covers, but a gentle inner nudge reminded him to begin with prayer. He sat on the edge of his bed, closed his eyes, and simply said, “Help me, God.”

As he moved through his morning, Eli noticed small shifts: people smiled at him as he walked to the train, the coffee shop was playing his favorite hymn, and during a meeting, a colleague offered unprompted help. Each event felt like confirmation that he was not tackling life’s struggles alone.

Throughout the day, Eli found calm during stressful moments by silently inviting God into the conversation. He became more patient with others and less critical of himself. By evening, Eli realized the day hadn’t been easy, but he had handled it with unexpected grace. Just doing life with God didn’t mean everything was perfect; it meant knowing he had strength and guidance for every challenge he faced.
