The Playlist of Me

Posted in

Every song on Malik’s playlist had a memory—summer drives, heartbreaks, late-night prayers. One night he shuffled through and realized he could tell his whole story just by the music he’d saved.

Curious, he started building a new playlist called “More About Me.” This time, he didn’t pick songs to impress anyone. He chose tracks that spoke to his fears, his hope, his faith, his questions. As he listened, he noticed themes: he was braver than he thought, softer than he let on, and far more hopeful than his day-to-day worries showed.

He began to ask himself: if my life was a song, what would it sound like right now—and what do I want the next verse to be? That question nudged him into new habits: journaling, praying, creating instead of just consuming.

Malik discovered that knowing yourself isn’t a one-time revelation; it’s like updating a playlist. As you grow, you add new tracks, let go of old ones, and slowly, the soundtrack of your life starts to sound more and more like the real you.
